Our Employees:
  Our employees are dedicated to animal care in our community. The everyday challenges of abandonment, curelty, and homeless animals is a small part of what these employees face on a day to day bases.  Our Animal Care Specialists attend the needs and requirements of the care of the animals, handle all reclaims of lost animals, interact with families matching animals with their new forever homes and much much more.  Our ACO specialists work not only in the Humane Shelter but in the community educating by enforcing the City Ordiance and State Law in the proper care and treatement of all animals.

   Dee started with the Humane Shelter in May of 1991 as an Animal Care Specialist.  In 1995 County Animal Control was added to her duties.  Then, in a few years the city joined in and soon she became part of a team covering the duties of Animal Control. 
Today, Dee is the Operations Manager/Senior Animal Control Officer.  She has recieved training in many levels and holds many certificates of merit.
   As of October 19, 2009 Dee will be adding yet one more line to her achievements.  She will become the Humane Educator.  For the first few months, until 2010 she will be training a new Animal Control Officer to help Jeannie in the field and free time for the Humane Education so greatly needed in our community.

  Mary joined the crew in 2001 as a full time Animal Care Specialist.  Since that time she has moved into working at Rescue and posting animals on Petfinder.com.  Through her undaunting efforts many animals have found their ways into homes all over the country.  Everything she does at the Humane Shelter reflects her love and concern for the well being of the animals.

  Jolen, or Jeannie as we have all come to know her, has been with us for just 1 year.  She has just returned from training by the National Animal Care and Control Academy.  She breezed through the class and has been certified in Animal Control.  She has learned much in her first year and is looking forward to all the position has to offer.

   Andy just joined the Humane Shelter family in January.  He is a Huntington County Resident, living in the city of Huntington. 
   He is in training for the Animal Control position, as Dee moves onto her new discription of Humane Educator.  Andy loves his new position and is looking forward to a long time postion with the Humane Shelter.  Welcome, Andy.
