The Huntington Humane Society works hard throughout the year to insure the presents of the Humane Shelter. The Humane Shelter depends strong upon the income generated by fundraisers hosted by the Humane Soceiey Board of Directors.
Throughout the year the Humane Society can be found with Mobil Adoptions in any one of our local merchants, at one or another of the local fairs or community events or at one of the two major events hosted by the Humane Society.
First: June 27, 2009 at Norwood Golf Club "Florida Scramble Golf Outing"

Needed for the event are Green Sponsors/Beverage Cart Sponsors and Golfers
The day includes 18 holes of golf, 2-carts and lunch, skins and mulligans. We have several hole contests
and great prizes.
Second: August 1, 2009 rain date August 15 at the Humane Shelter
From 9 AM - 2 PM "FurrBall Fest/Pet Expo"
From 6 PM - 12:00 AM "Battle-of-the-Bands/Beer Tent"
This year is the 3rd year for this event and each year has been better than the one before.

Third: January of each year (date pending) the Humane Soceity holds thier Annual Membership Dinner.
At the dinner the most honorable award given for animals in Huntington County is awarded, the Thurman
Poe Humanitarian of the Year award. An award given to someone who has done above and beyond for
the betterment of the lives for animals in the city and/or county. The Humane Society membership meet
and talk with officers and members of the Board of Directors on concerns and with any questions. City and
County officials gather and all share the same common interest and concern, animals and the treatment of the
animals in our community.
